Our CMIE NewsBlog team is expanding! Welcome NEC students Jenny Giardina and Chris Watford, as they post documentation and reflections from (respectively) Lyle Davidson's "Music, Brain Development, & Learning" and Warren Senders's "Cross-Cultural Approaches to Music-In-Education" courses.

What do MIE Guided Interns, Watertown MA, and budding young minds have in common? All are involved in a new venture we are calling a'NEC Focus School.' The MIE Portfolio Showcase

This Spring (2008), the CMIE will continue hosting its ongoing Portfolio Showcase to highlight the accomplishments and learning practices of our students. Excerpts of student portfolios will be assembled into 'best practice' and 'process-oriented' portfolios and displayed here on the MIE@NEC website. Portfolio work will be chosen on an "opt-in" basis. Each semester, MIE students can be found doing a wide variety of internships, from conducting their own research projects via the MIE Research Center to teaching private lessons, coaching youth ensembles, conducting Artist Outreach, or exploring connections between literacy and music.
